A low-bodget film during the mid '80s quickly forgotten and dumped. Can't say I am thrilled with the songs either. Normally Yesudas' bengali accent is OK but he falters in "path haaraabo".I have no idea why Salil decided to do a "version" of this Hemanta classic. Suresh Wadekar's biggest problem is that he can't distinguish between three "s" bengali language has. Its always "sh" for him ! As a result, the songs sound quite strange. After listening to Manna Dey's heart wrenching "ek samay par do barsaatein" in Jhoola, Suresh Wadekar's "Eki e niyotir nithhur khela" is quite painful ! I have no idea why Salil asked Suresh W to sing Bengali songs. To save money may be ?
In the song "kono ak boner poshur" Salil uses fragments from a number of his old compositions, rabindrasangeet and nazrul songs ! May be that day he didn't feel motivated at all.
Arundhoti's "bolo bolo" is an interesting composition with typical Salil touch, I mean those unpredictable chord progression but somehow it falls flat. All together a disappointing album. Oh well, you win some and you lose some...
