The World of Salil Chowdhury

"shyamameghame" is a beautiful version of Sabita's little known classic "jaao tabe jaao". Apparently, there is also a hindi version of this song sung by Yesudas but I haven't found it yet.
The Hindi version of Song# SP3 is from 'Laalbatti' which is very similar but not exactly. On the other hand the interlude music of the 'Laalbatti' song in the main melody of SP3, the Kannad song OE3 and Sabita's very famous Bengali song 'Jhilmil jhilmil' (SC46).
So, Salil composed one song originally and then made four songs out of it !
There is a short piece of wonderful background music which I found worth recording from the film track. Just listen to the fantastic flute solo. I don't know who played it though.
Not many people would notice that the actor is not the real Kamal Hassan. We heard later that due to the unavailaibilty of the real Kamal Hassan a look alike was used.
